When understanding is there, enrooted

[Nina] About the perfections because it's always stressed that a good quality is only a perfection if there is no idea of self who is doing it. [A. Sujin] If there is no understanding at all can the understanding be there at moment of dana or [at] any moment? Even when one has the understanding, right understanding of the truth, it doesn't mean that right understanding arises all the time, at moment of dana or sila and so on. That's why without the kusala citta, even at that moment no understanding, but underlined there is understanding of the truth, but no conditions [for it] to arise at that very moment, depending on the moment, whether dana can be kusala with understanding or only kusala without any understanding, but there is the enrooted understanding of: no-one and: it's-a-reality. So it depends on conditions for each moment [for understanding] to arise with any dana or any kusala. That's why even it does not arise with right understanding, but it'

Understanding the true meaning of meditation

[A. Sujin] We better talk about meditation, to be truthful to the truth, to understand what is meant by meditation, in Pali is patipatti, and what is the meaning of pati and the meaning of patti? Otherwise we can't understand the word [meditation]. [Carmen] I cannot find the English word, sorry. [A. Sujin] OK, Khun Jonothan, pati-patti... [Jonothan] The translation that I've heard from Ajahn is to reach the particular. [A. Sujin] Is there anything to be reached or attained now... nothing? Is that patti? So, that is the meaning of patti, to reach, to attain, to get closer, to understand the truth of that object. So now, is there anything that should be reached?... Seeing? What is the truth of it? There is seeing right now, what is the truth of seeing, to be reached? Shouldn't it be reached? So what did the Bud

We talk about dhammas because they're now

Chanti: Ajahn Sujin can you help to explore further how - because there is only citta experiencing now - and whether such a moment is right intellectual understanding, whether it is seeing in deva realm; or seeing in a hell realm, or seeing in a human-realm - it is one citta seeing now; one world. Ajahn Sujin: Because there is seeing, but there is no understanding of seeing as it is, right now, even right now. That's why even while it's there, what is the truth of it? What is seeing?  Without the seeing which experiences the object which is seen, can that object appear?  It can be just thinking about the truth - in the beginning. And when there is more understanding, it (paññā) can understand the other reality, little by little too. For example, that which appears must be experienced: when it (the visible object) is seen, the seeing sees it. When it is sound, the hearing hears it. And this is the
